For more than twenty years, Triton Air has been South Orange County’s most trusted name in heating and air conditioning. Today, that legacy continues under a broader name, Triton Air & Plumbing, reflecting the company’s recent expansion into plumbing services.

You may recognize their signature blue vans or Triton’s Adopt-a-Highway sign on the northbound 5 Freeway, but “service” has always gone beyond mere repairs and installations. General Manager Luis Montiel, now in his 13th year with the company, says giving back remains central to their mission. “We’ve always believed that giving back to the community is just as important as serving our customers’ homes,” he says. “And we want to thank the community for trusting us as we grow.”

And they certainly have grown, all while staying true to their customer‑first roots. Luis says that in 2026, they will focus on growing their customer service team so more customers can speak with friendly, knowledgeable team members to schedule their services.

In the past year, Triton’s customer base grew higher than they had originally forecasted. They added four in-house plumbers (for a total of six), and Luis says they’re on track to complete as many plumbing projects as HVAC, or even more! Customers had long been requesting more home repair services, and plumbing was the most requested service. “Our mission has always been to positively impact people’s lives,” Luis explains. “By caring for both the air we breathe and the water we use, we’re creating healthier, more efficient homes across our community.” Whether it’s a simple garbage disposal replacement or a major slab leak, they deliver the same quality and reliability customers have come to expect.

Service and sustainability continue to guide Triton’s approach to heating and air. Luis says that California is phasing out older, high–global warming refrigerants, and encourages homeowners to use more environmentally friendly refrigerants (such as R‑454B and R‑32).

While homeowners are not required to replace a working system, Triton says customers with air conditioners over 10 years old should upgrade to benefit from new refrigerant technology and higher efficiency standards. “It’s better for your house AND the environment,” Luis says.

On the community front, Triton’s dedication to South Orange County is stronger than ever. The team continues to support local initiatives, including San Clemente High School athletics, and has set a goal to sponsor at least 50% of the schools in its service area. From banners at baseball fields to indoor signage and other sponsorships, Triton wants families to know they support kids’ sports. Triton will also once again sponsor OceanFest, the weeklong surfing competition called The Greatest Show on Surf, this coming July.

And lastly, those who have worked with Triton before know that they participate in HVAC brand Lennox’s Feel the Love program, which donates air conditioning or other home systems to deserving members of the community. Last year, Triton’s nominee, OC resident Darin Nakakihara won and was gifted a Lennox cooling system installed by Triton’s generous team. Darin, who suffers from ALS and shares his journey on social media, posted a video of the occasion, which was viewed by thousands of people around the world.
