GLENN CRAFT, DVM AND KELLY ALCALA, DVM

Monarch Veterinary HospitalMonarch Veterinary Hospital sits nestled among the hills of south Laguna Niguel on Niguel Road in Clubhouse Plaza. This cozy, residential area is filled with pet owners who love and care for their furry friends like members of the family. Local pet lovers truly appreciate a facility like Monarch Veterinary Hospital that not only provides exceptional healthcare, but creates long-lasting, trusting relationships with their clients and treats them like family.

Dr. Glenn Craft and his wife, Lisa, first envisioned operating such a facility when they returned home after spending 4 years serving in Thailand with Christian Veterinary Mission/World Concern, a community development NGO that operates in the poorest parts of the world. A husband and wife team since 1987, the Crafts were convinced when they returned to Orange County that they could establish a high-end practice that balanced a personal touch with exceptional, high-tech, full-service veterinary medicine without compromising on the level of care they provide. Hence, Monarch Veterinary Hospital opened its doors in September 2002.

Monarch Veterinary Hospital offers the expanse of veterinary medicine from wellness checkups and dental care, to internal medicine, dermatology, therapeutic laser therapy, pain management and general surgeries. In 2016, it upgraded to the latest equipment in ultrasound and digital radiography (X-ray).

The key members on Monarch’s team all have over 15 years of professional experience and most have worked with Dr. Craft for over 10 years. Dr. Craft also has developed strong working relationships with chosen specialists in the area to refer to when needed in areas of practice such as ophthalmology, neurology and orthopedic surgery.

In 2015, Dr. Kelly Alcala joined the staff at the hospital as an Associate. She brings with her an impressive reputation and she and Dr. Craft are very like-minded in how they practice medicine and communicate with clients. Dr. Alcala has worked part-time at the hospital since 2006, and now that the practice has grown, she is on staff full-time.

The goal at Monarch Veterinary Hospital is to deliver a personalized experience that exceeds the pet owner’s expectations at each and every visit. The staff has made a commitment to do just that and takes a lot of pride in accomplishing it with every pet owner that comes through the door, each and every day.
