Celebrating 30 Years

What were you doing 30 years ago? Dr. Frank Mogavero was just starting out on a journey that would make him one of the most experienced and respected orthodontists in Southern California. He opened Mogavero Orthodontics in 1990 and has since provided best-in-class treatment on thousands of OC smiles. His office has grown to become an Orange County institution, perfecting the winning smiles of a veritable who’s-who in extreme sports — from skaters to X-Game snowboarders, many of whom have sat in Dr. Frank’s chair for braces, retainers and more. His San Clemente office is a treasure trove of sports memorabilia, including a wall of autographed skateboards, and three Mammoth resort ski lift chairs (he also has an office in Mammoth Lakes). Dr. Mogavero is known for testing new procedures and utilizing state-of-the-art practices, ensuring that formerly lengthy, uncomfortable procedures become streamlined and pleasant. “Now we can scan teeth in minutes and upload the results to oral device manufacturers,” he says. “It’s so much more precise and patients like it better, too.”

During California’s reopening phase, Mogavero Orthodontics has implemented safety protocols that prioritize the health and safety of patients and staff. Dr. Mogavero and his staff wear N95 masks and utilize updated procedures for sanitation and sterilization. While the times and technology have certainly changed, his love for Orthodontics has not. “I get to watch my patients grow up, see their smiles, launch careers, and have smiles that they’re proud of,” Mogavero says. “Most rewarding of all is getting to see their smiles at the end of treatment. They’re so happy because they can go out in life with a nice smile and have more self-confidence.”
