While the team’s medical abilities are superb, in a way, this place seems to be stuck in a time warp. They focus on good old-fashioned customer/pet relationships because they know just how much your cherished pet means to you and how much you mean to your pet. They understand how important it is for your pet to trust you, and that is why local pet lovers trust Dana Point Animal Hospital. Every visit you make, they care and treat your pet like it’s their very own.

Meet the Team
Dr. Jill Granite

Born and raised on the East Coast, Dr. Jill Granite obtained her BS at the University of Vermont, after which she spent several years working as a veterinary technician at a small animal practice. From there, she moved to California to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She attended Western University of Health Science, School of Veterinary Medicine, and graduated with her DVM in 2008. After practicing on both the East and West Coasts, Dr. Granite ultimately decided to plant her roots in Dana Point and has created Dana Point Animal Hospital (formerly Golden Lantern Animal Hospital) where she is now the owner and Medical Director.

Dr. Jennifer Pursley
Jennifer was born and raised in Orange County, inheriting a love for animals and for medicine from both sides of her family, but the first among her relatives to go to University. Initially planning on becoming a horse vet, a bad fall and spinal injury at the age of 14 necessitated the use of a wheelchair so small animals became the new plan, and she’s been addicted to them ever since. She worked in a variety of veterinary staff positions while working toward her B.S. in biology at UC Irvine then UC Davis for veterinary school. Professionally she has special interests in endocrinology, dermatology, behavior medicine and small mammals like rabbits.

Dr. Jenna Pizzo
Jenna grew up in Newport Beach, CA. She attended UCSB for her undergraduate studies and went to the University of Minnesota for Veterinary School and graduated in 1999. After she graduated, she practiced for 3 years in Colorado before joining the team 16 years ago.
