Surrounding Elements has been operating in South Orange County since 2001. It was one of the first in the industry to design and build custom mosaic legwarmer tables with interchangeable centers, featuring an ice bucket, lazy susan, centerpiece and a firepit insert that can be positioned at two levels. Best known for unique mosaic work, Surrounding Elements’ owners and artists, Moss Shacter and Patty Geach, are quick to point out that they also build barbeque islands, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, fountains and much more. The internal structures for all projects are made with either powder coated frames, designed by Surrounding Elements, or stainless-steel studs. The frames are encased in HardieBacker board as the final canvas for their projects. The company uses this application, instead of concrete, as it can expand and contract in the heat and cold, which can cause cracks or lifting. Surfaces are finished with only top-quality natural stones, glass, tiles and grout. All of these surfaces are sealed upon completion. Outdoor kitchens, fireplaces and fountains are accented with Ameristone acrylic stucco. Each step in the process ensures durability and longevity.
