Rivi Endo
When you meet Tyler A. Davis, DMD, MS, you quickly sense two things: a deep love for people and a deep respect for roots—both the dental kind and the community kind. As a fourth-generation dentist and now founder of Rivi Endo, Dr. Davis is blending proven expertise with modern innovation right here in San Clemente.
“I wanted Rivi Endo to feel like home,” states Dr. Davis. “A place where patients experience precision, comfort, and genuine care—from root to recovery.”
A CALIFORNIA NATIVE WITH DEEP ROOTS
Dr. Davis grew up in Downey, California, surrounded by the sights and sounds of family life in a dental household. Dentistry runs through the Davis family like a strong genetic code— spanning four generations devoted to restoring health and confidence through smiles. After earning his dental degree from UNLV and completing intensive specialty training in Endodontics at Saint Louis University (SLU), Dr. Davis moved his family back to his home state in 2021. Since then, he has served patients in and around San Clemente, developing a loyal following for his calm approach and meticulous technique. Fluent in Spanish, he values the opportunity to connect with and care for patients all over Southern California.
Now, with Rivi Endo, he’s established his own practice in the city where his children are growing their roots.
“We named it after Riviera Beach—one of our favorite places to spend time as a family,” Tyler explains. “The iconic Rivi tunnel inspired our logo, symbolizing connection, roots, and the path back to comfort.”
WHAT EXACTLY IS AN ENDODONTIST?
Most people only think about root canals when they need one. Endodontists, however, think about them all the time. Dr. Davis specializes in diagnosing and treating pain originating from inside the tooth—specifically the dental pulp and root canals. In simple terms, a root canal saves a natural tooth that might otherwise be lost due to infection, trauma, or deep decay.
“Our goal is always to save your natural tooth,” says Dr. Davis. “With proper treatment and restoration, a tooth that has undergone a root canal can last a lifetime.”
At Rivi Endo, that goal is supported by advanced tools and methods that set the practice apart. Every detail is designed to put patients at ease. From the calming atmosphere to the gentle, precise care, the experience feels nothing like the anxiety often associated with root canals. Patients are often surprised by how comfortable— and even peaceful—the process can be.
INNOVATION MEETS PRECISION
Inside the new Rivi Endo office— located at 1001 Avenida Pico, Suite N —technology meets tranquility. The space is light, modern, and welcoming, a reflection of Dr. Davis’s philosophy that technical excellence and patient comfort should go hand in hand. Every tool and technique is chosen with one goal in mind—exceptional precision and patient comfort:
- 3D Cone Beam CT Imaging (CBCT) for ultra-detailed views of tooth anatomy and surrounding bone.
- High-magnification Zeiss operating microscope used in every procedure for enhanced visibility and accuracy.
- Laser technology implemented to disinfect the root canal system at the highest possible level.
These tools aren’t just bells and whistles— they enable outcomes that are measurably better for patients. Dr. Davis even published peer-reviewed research on cone-beam technology in the Journal of Endodontics, helping set standards for how advanced imaging improves diagnosis and treatment precision.
“Technology should make dentistry more human, not less,” he explains. “When we can see better, we can treat better—and that means faster healing, less discomfort, and longerlasting results.”
SPECIALIZED CARE WHEN IT MATTERS MOST
Beyond traditional root canal therapy, Rivi Endo offers root-end surgery (apicoectomy) for cases that require microsurgical precision, as well as trauma-focused treatment for dental injuries—an area of particular importance in an active coastal community.
“We see dental trauma from sports, surfing, e-bikes, and all the things that make life here fun,” Dr. Davis notes. “If someone chips or dislodges a tooth, seeing an endodontist right away can often mean the difference between saving or losing that tooth.”
His background in managing dental trauma allows him to stabilize and treat injured teeth so that patients—especially young athletes—can heal and keep their natural smiles.
A FAMILY-FIRST PHILOSOPHY
Step inside Rivi Endo and you’ll feel the personal touch right away. Dr. Davis and his wife, Sarah, designed the space not just for technical precision but also to create a welcoming environment—with elements inspired by the activities his family loves. As a father of five children, ranging in age from two to twelve, Dr. Davis says they’re the reason he and Sarah work so hard to build something meaningful. “Family keeps me grounded,” he reflects. “It reminds me why I do what I do—helping people feel better, get out of pain, and get back to what matters most.”
LOOKING AHEAD
With the doors now open, Dr. Davis is excited to welcome both local residents and referring dentists to experience a new level of endodontic care in South Orange County.
“This community has been such a blessing to our family,” he says with a smile. “Rivi Endo is my way of giving something back—with compassion at the heart of everything we do.”
For Dr. Tyler Davis, it all comes back to roots— family roots, community roots, and the roots he saves every day.
