PTA Coffee Break presents Sabrina Schuck, Executive Director of UC Irvine’s Health Child Development School on Wednesday, March 16 from 8:30-10:15 a.m. at Hotel Laguna.

An Assistant Professor in Residence in the Departments of Pediatrics and Psychology & Social Behavior at UCI, Dr. Schuck will give parents tools and provide parenting techniques found to be most effective in helping children build resilience, be more self-reliant and overcome social challenges.  Her discussion is designed to help all parents understand and use those strategies thought necessary for improving self-regulation, empathy and social-engagement in their children.

Coffee Break is a monthly program organized by the Laguna Beach PTA Council’s Parent Education Committee.  It is supported by generous donations from Mission Hospital, Laguna Beach PTA and Council and individual community members. Big Kahuna Koncert For a Cause
In memory of Tubsteak Tracy, many local surfers, artists and supporters of his love of special needs kids, are coming together again and are excited to announce this year’s benefit concert at OC Tavern in San Clemente featuring performances by Common Sense and Missing Persons, the fine sounds of DJ Fluffy of Venice and art displayed by Roy Gonzalez.

* OC Tavern will be donating 20% of all food and drink purchases. If you would like to donate raffle or silent auction items, please call 949-370-1083

* Proceeds from ticket sales and silent auction will go to Tubesteak Tracy’s favorite local charities which include:

• Surfers Healing, surf camp for kids with autism (San Juan Capistrano)
• Rock the Autism, Music program for kids with autism (San Clemente)
• Therasurf, surf camp for all special needs kids (Malibu)
• Red Autismo, a non-profit organization which provides therapy services for children age 2-12 with Autism Spectrum Disorders (San Jose Del Cabo Mexico)
• Great Opportunities, helping disadvantage kids learn about the ocean (San Juan Capistrano)
• OC Autism, a local organization providing information and guidance for individuals with autism and their families, to access resources (Orange County)
